Manali

Manali is a town, near Kullu town in Kullu district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.[2] It is situated in the northern end of the Kullu Valley, formed by the Beas River.

SAMSTANLIG MONASTERY

The monastery’s atmosphere and mystique are enhanced by its secluded setting. The monastery is located beyond a path planted with berry-bearing bushes, with prayer flags along the red flight of steps up to the monastery’s door. It takes 50 minutes to walk from Sumur Village to this location, or you can get a cab. Red-yellow trees and brightly coloured flags adorn the landscape.

DUSKIT GOMPA

A beautiful panoramic view of the Nubra valley may be had from the foot of the statue. Changzen Tserab Zangpo constructed the monastery in the 14th century, and it is located on a hill above the Shayok River flats. The monastery’s huge collection of murals and display of frescoes are particularly worth seeing. Visit the monastery in December to see the Dosmoche festival, which is hosted here.

Its water, which seems to be dyed in blue, stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it. Extending to almost 160km, one-third of the Pangong Lake lies in India and the other two-thirds in China.

Don’t forget to stop some 10 km before pangong lake while coming from Leh. You will witness rare endemic species ‘Mormot‘. Lives in pot holes, but in daytime they usually come out of their potholes.You will find some sign boards en route stating ‘Stop here to see rare endemic species Mormot’.
You might experience snowfall at chang la pass while going pangong lake from Leh. Me and my friend who visited chang la after one month of my visit, we both experienced snowfall there.Even if snowfall will not occur, this is the place where you can find maximum amout of snow and ice.Apart from road, you will find snow as far as your eye could see. Stop there for a while, have a tea or soup at Army cafeteria,click some pics with milestone showing that you are on World’s third highest motorable road.
